The Mwezi Foundation gives solar lights to schools in Kenya to lend to their pupils so they can do their homework at night. We currently support 40 schools and have donated over 1,000 lights. We employ three Kenyans in Mombasa who manufacture and service the lights, and manage our relationships with the schools, ensuring that the lights are used effectively. We recognise the importance of having good staff who are trustworthy and highly skilled. With support from Bourne Recruitment we have been able to give them a long overdue and much deserved pay rise which should help us to retain them, and we have been able to make our part time worker, Julia, full time. With three full time staff we can increase the number of schools we support. The Mwezi Foundation is delighted to be partnering with Bourne Recruitment to forward our three aims of increasing employment, improving education and helping the environment in Kenya.
